Tabgrab for Chrome · Coming soon

Grab tabs right from your browser

The Tabgrab extension saves the page you are on, or a whole window, to a grab in one click. And it opens a grab as a tab group, so switching projects is one click too.

What it does

Everything a web page cannot do with your tabs

  1. 1

    Save this tab

Click the Tabgrab icon, pick a grab and press Save. The title and icon come from the page you have open, so pages behind a login get their real name.

  2. 2

    Save the whole window

Turn every tab in this window into a new grab at once. Pages that are not websites, and doubles, are left out.

  3. 3

Open a grab as a tab group

Click a grab and its tabs open together in a Chrome tab group with the grab's name. Your other grabs fold up, so one project is in view at a time.

  4. 4

    Right-click to add

Right-click any page or link and choose Add to a grab. The Tabgrab icon shows a check when it is saved.

From tabs to a grab, and back

Put a project away in one click. Get it back in one click.

Save window

Done for the day, or switching to something else? Save every tab in the window as a new grab, then close them all. Nothing is lost.

Open a grab

Its tabs open as one tab group, named after the grab. The groups of your other grabs fold up, so you only see the project you are working on.

How it fits

One account, three ways in

Saves and opens

Chrome extension

Gets tabs into Tabgrab while you browse, and opens a grab as a tab group.

Organises

tabgrab.dev

Rename, sort and tidy your grabs, add descriptions and app links, in any browser.

Launches

Mac app

Your grabs and your apps one shortcut away, with Option-Space from anywhere.

The same grabs everywhere. Save a tab in Chrome and it is on tabgrab.dev and in the Mac app.

No warning when you install it

Tabgrab only asks to read all your tabs the first time you save a whole window. Saving one tab needs nothing extra.

Works in more than Chrome

The same extension runs in Edge, Brave, Arc and other Chromium browsers, on Mac, Windows and Linux.

Questions

Good to know

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome, and other browsers built on Chromium: Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera and Vivaldi. It is not available for Safari or Firefox.

Do I need a Tabgrab account?

Yes. The extension saves to the grabs in your account, so you log in once with your email and password, or with a code we email you. Your grabs then show up in the extension, on tabgrab.dev and in the Mac app.

Why does Chrome ask to read my tabs?

To save a whole window, Tabgrab has to read the address of every tab in it. Chrome calls that reading your browsing history. Tabgrab asks only the first time you use Save window, reads only that window, and stores only the tabs you save.

What happens to app links when I open a grab?

App links like slack:// open an app, not a web page, so they cannot go in a tab group. The extension opens the websites in the grab and leaves the app links out.

What if the grab is already open?

If a tab group with the grab's name is already open, Tabgrab switches to it instead of opening the tabs a second time.

Where do I organise my grabs?

On tabgrab.dev or in the Mac app. The extension is kept small on purpose: it saves and opens tabs, and everything else happens where there is room for it.

What does it cost?

It is free, like the rest of Tabgrab.
